Currently Welcoming New Clients
50-70 minutes
During this visit, you can expect to talk about what prompted you to see me and what your goals are for treatment. I will ask questions about symptoms you are experiencing, prior treatment (including medications and/or therapy), and review family and medical history. Importantly, I will want to know about your current stressors, your upbringing, cultural and spiritual values/beliefs, social supports, your strengths, and anything else that you believe to be important for me to know about you.
25 - 40 min
During follow-up visits, we will discuss how you feel you are progressing towards your goals. We will review mental health symptoms, any potential side-effects of medication, and will continually reevaluate whether taking medication is helpful. I always view your progress in the context of your stressors and strengths and incorporate therapy into appointments, so expect to also spend some time talking about what is going on in your life - good or bad, and how you are coping with it. The length of the follow-up visits will be decided collaboratively, but is most often 25 minutes unless there is added complexity that requires more time.
I offer telehealth services for Texans who might not be close enough to my Austin office to meet in person, or who prefer to meet online.
For individuals interested in meeting in person, I have an office located in Austin, TX.
